Don't waste your money

Don't waste your money. None of these heaters will work no matter what brand you buy. All they do is blow your fuses or worse, short you out like they did to me (ruined my lighter). They don't generate enough heat to feel warm and are very dangerous to your wiring. I advise only fixing the heater because it doesn't take the hassle or money to fix the extra damage it can cause!

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Exorbitant price

Works for a van defroster without a heater core.

Smells like burnt toxic plastic when in use. I wonder how "healthy" is this plastic and can American manufacturers use it legally? However, it is far from being a heater. but I only bought it in the hope that it would defrost PART of the inside of my windshield since I don't have a heater. It does just that - it defrosts a small area on the driver's side glass. It's LOUD, smells like toxic plastic, but works as I intended.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Some little things

Do not waste money

Waste of money. If the temperature is above 50°, it warms the hands if they are in close proximity, but nothing else. It does not defrost windows, does not heat up the interior and does not warm the driver either. It actually appears to be blowing cold air unless you place it a few inches from your body. Also there is no smell of burning when it works sometimes. The port gets pretty hot too. Looks like a fire hazard. Don't buy this.

Pros
  • Hands-free work
Cons
  • There are defects

Battery Discharger - Heater and Temperature Control

I installed it on a new closed cab Polaris Ranger EFI. Plowing snow in this cabin makes widows sweat indoors. I was hoping that this little heater would solve my problem but it only led me to a bigger problem as it was draining my battery and having to tow my ranger back to the garage to recharge the battery. I no longer use the heater, I just opened the side windows a bit and that solved my problem. This will sell well at my flea market.

Pros
  • Very Good Value
Cons
  • Problem

Virtually no heating or ventilation in heating mode

Even at 50°C, this unit hardly heats up. Definitely not enough to defrost the windshield or prevent fogging, and definitely not enough warmth to provide any comfort. It stopped working after trying it and I'm still not sure why. Sockets produce electricity. I'm not sure who wrote the positive reviews, but I have a hard time believing anything positive about this device. And I'm in South Carolina, not Alaska!

  • Weight

  • So far so good

Great for money. However, don't expect much in the north.

A Very good unit. It has 2 heating speed settings and one fan setting. high temperature works very well. However, if you live in the northern states, don't expect it to heat up your car in the winter. But as a defroster it's great. I use it in the back seat of my large sedan to provide instant heat before the car is warm. It draws a lot of current, so plan on installing a larger fuse or, even safer, buy a 12-volt cigarette lighter plug.

Pros
  • A 20A fuse uses
Cons
  • Clarity

I risked it and lost it, come on

So I was hoping this article might work with a standalone system. I have a 120Ah battery and a tiny 5'X3'X6' warm air space (small drop trailer). I knew that due to the traction of the devices, I could only run the heater for a few hours. What I didn't know was how little it cost. The device makes good use of energy, but generates no heat. However, this could very well be the nature of the beast, and there's a strong possibility that 120 amp hours simply doesn't have enough stored energy to…

A great little heater for the price.

I bought this particular heater because it had the best reviews for the price. My heater in my van broke in October so I needed something to defrost the windows in the winter. It works well. Here are my recommendations. Make sure your window is clear of ice and snow. Defrosting with any other method takes a very long time. Also, this heater only heats a small spot at a time. I walk about 10-15 minutes before I leave. I also turn on the defrost on my car, although it doesn't blow hot air it…

Pros
  • Adjustable swivel base and plugs straight into cigarette lighter/socket
Cons
  • Can't remember but there was something

moderate expectations bring decent satisfaction

I never thought this thing would actually heat up my farm tractor cab, I was just hoping it would keep the rear window from freezing over when I snowed rooms. And it is. My snowblower is rear mounted, so I look back and breathe at the rear window, which doesn't have a de-icer. Of course, this is a recipe for misting and icing glasses. As long as the fan outlet is close enough to the glass, it will keep the window clean. The fan performs decently when the heating element is not on, but airflow…

Pros
  • Rated power 180W and current draw 15A
