The original door rail on my barn door was plastic. Plastic? who would do it This part requires a lot of wear and tear. Of course, the plastic door rail failed when it tore. This door guide is very durable. solid metal I can't imagine it ever breaking or needing to be replaced. I have another barn door and if the plastic door track breaks (and it will) I will be buying another one of these! Highly recommended.
