Review on DEWALT D26950 Heat Gun - Yellow by Eric Basler

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good choice for non-industrial environments

According to a review by Regis Staley I bought this to replace some golf club grips. Unfortunately it didn't work with my old beryllium nickel ping ISK sticks. Not only is the metal very unusual, but Ping probably used some sort of secret aviation epoxy back then. Even my flashlight, which I ended up using, took a while to open this post. So if I worked in a club on a regular basis I would choose a mega hot industrial heat gun. I have used them in a workshop and under these conditions they are worth the high price although they don't last forever. No heat gun works. Expensive, industrial ones can be repaired. The DeWalt is well made and I like the combination of performance and price. The two attachments supplied are practical. It heats up quickly and should be enough for any regular heat gun. The stand really works! Now I can get rid of my antique glowing electric paint stripper. It's disgusting. In fact, the firewood would catch fire. He was hereditary and was probably in his 60's or 70's and still working. I suspect it would take more than a couple of Chinese heat guns to cover that time, but there are upsides.

Pros
  • Ergonomic comfort grip provides more comfort for long hours of use
Cons
  • There are downsides
