I love the simple elegance of these lights. I bought two, one in the lobby, the other in the hall. The maximum power is 60 watts. You can buy amber or clear bulbs depending on how much light you need. They were easy to install. I had to use my old screws because the ones that came were a bit tight. This took about ten minutes. Simply attach the adjustable frame (which contains the socket) to the light box with two screws, add a star, secure with a bracket that screws onto the socket and add your choice of bulb. It uses a medium lamp base, so any lamp will do in a pinch. No lampshades to clean, just wipe the bulb when needed. You look great! Probably better in small rooms with average ceiling height. I would buy them again.
