When you need a sharp ax fast!

After years of use, my old ax has become quite dull. Since I used the ax occasionally for practice, I didn't worry too much about it. But last fall, when I had enough brushwood and a few stumps to get rid of, I decided it was time to sharpen the old axe. Bastard after watching a few videos on YouTube but it took forever no matter how boring this ax was. I then found a few different ax sharpeners at a few hardware stores I visited but they were either too expensive or just didn't look heavy enough to handle this particular axe. Then I stumbled across this one and decided to give it a try. When it arrived I took it to my workshop and put the ax in a vise. I counted 20 blows in one direction, tested the edge with my thumb and was surprised at how much sharper it was. I took 20 strokes the other way and checked it again with my thumb and found it was razor sharp at that point. . I don't remember this ax ever being as sharp as it was then, but it's definitely sharp now! better than a file and much faster, I have no doubt it will do your job just as well, if not better. In fact, I don't think you'll find anything better there. ;-)
