This is a full-size 45MB SLR monster. If you don't know what it all means, this isn't your camera. FOR: It's all about the sensor. Nikon has applied some serious engineering magic while also getting a new ultra-sensitive, very high-resolution sensor. The GUI is familiar to my Nikon colleagues. What was new for me about the D7000 was the excellent touchscreen. The design of the medal and it seems solid. Photos come straight from the camera in .JPG format, while RAW is available for those who want full control. Other Nikon photographers are paying attention. Cons: That large sensor requires a large NIKOR FX lens, so be prepared to upgrade if you switch from a smaller DX sensor. There's no retractable flash at all, but a small Nikon flash costs around $150. Honestly the thing sees in the dark and takes photos that I find impossible. I use a small flash to add highlights to people's eyes. The D850 and those big beautiful FX lenses are heavier.
