I only bought a hand pump because I was replacing a previous one. I've had plastic and earlier metal bottles and this one looks and feels like the best material. The sensor is easy to read for older eyes with cataracts and can be rotated for reading positioning. When I opened the package I thought the pressure gauge was broken and bent. It's just awful because that's how it's done. I've only used it once, but the vacuum-pressure switching valve is much better than the previous ones, and at low pressure and vacuum (1-2 psi and 1-2 inhg) the needle moves instantly when inserted with a finger becomes. When tapping the manometer, the arrow does not jump. Readings are stable so you don't have to decide whether it's a gauge or an actual pressure change when checking for leaks. This can change with age.
