Works best in dirt without rocks.
I used it to dig some holes for some plants that came in 4" pots. I had to put my drills clutch on high so when it caught a rock it didn't twist my wrists. I found plunging it into the ground over and over again worked best in my rocking earth. I suspect in rock free dirt it would work far better. I did 8 holes and it seem to hold up.
