Despite several warnings from LG to only use the supplied cables, the supplied cables do NOT appear to be up to spec. For example, the included HDMI cable is labeled "High Speed HDMI(TM) with Ethernet," meaning it only supports 4K at 30Hz compared to the monitor's 60Hz capability. In the meantime, I have endless problems connecting via the included USB-C cable (the monitor randomly turns off for a few seconds and displays at 4K at 30Hz vs 60Hz) --- I suspect the included USB C not Both meet the specification as an HDMI cable. After spending my own money to buy cables with the right specs (HDMI 2.0 and USB-C/Thunderbolt 3), the monitor seems to work. Now it shows 4K@60Hz. Fingers crossed for smooth future use. So far it hasn't turned off randomly. It's bad to have a monitor that seems unreliable. LG must ensure that the cables provided are correct.
