Review on πŸ”Œ Enhance Your Flooring with Leviton 41652 QuickPort Floor Jack Assembly: Two Blank Inserts, Solid Brass by Jay Matlock

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I used them as a replacement floor outlet cover.

We had our floors renewed and in the process we decided to replace our floor outlet covers. (Technically, "we" didn't decide to replace them. My wife threw one away because she thought it was too gross to put it back in. I had to find a replacement, and it was as close as it could be. ) Firstly , I have no issues with the fit and finish of these cases. They look and feel like brass. Covers are all metal. Second, they are not designed to close the outlet. They are designed to obscure what appears to be an Ethernet connection. Third, you can use them as an outlet cover in a pinch. What I did was take out the plastic insert. I removed the inside of the circle with a dremel. I left the rest of the insert as a kind of socket cover. I removed the screws holding the inside of the socket. (I'm sure you could reuse them, but I used the ones that came with this cover.) I placed the plastic insert on top of the socket and secured the insert to the socket and the socket to the box with the screws provided. . That way I could use the plastic insert to attach the lid. (In my case, the old cover required narrower screws than the ones that came with this cover.) After the socket and insert were connected, I attached the plate. BE CAREFUL! Press-in nuts or fasteners made of plastic are simply pressed in. DO NOT PUSH THE SCREW WHEN ATTACHING THE FRONT PANEL! Use a flathead screwdriver and turn the screw to secure the bezel. (I pressed the first screw with a drill. I poked the nut through the plastic and had to use tape to attach it as a repair. It worked, but I wouldn't recommend it.) All in all, it's such a one great $8 replacement for a part that will set you back $39.99 at Lowe's or Menard's.
