Not a bad deal for the amount of substrate you get, but I seriously doubt it's as "alive" as they claim. My bag was pretty dry. There was practically no more moisture in the sand, and nitrifying bacteria did not get into my aquarium. My initial cycle actually takes longer than usual which wouldn't be a problem if I was using dry sand, but considering it's supposed to be live I don't think it's anywhere near as efficient as I was hoping. Dry or alive, it really didn't make much of a difference riding in my tank, if it mattered at all. Overall I like the look of this sand. It has a few quibbles but still enough for snails and fish crawling through the sand. It has a great color and is easy to keep clean.
