Velcro straps are really good and strong, not even when my cat tried to take them off did they come off. when i put the laces on my cat he wanted to take them off and fought for a good 15 minutes then he got used to it i was afraid he would suffocate because he tried very hard to take them off at first but he was fine. The bow tie was much more comfortable for my cat as it was smaller and didn't touch his chest. They don't fit snugly around my cat's neck and he had no trouble breathing despite being fluffy. My advice when using this product is to slowly introduce it to the cat and let him wear it for 5-10 minutes. Time and slowly increase the time he spends with them. After that, my cat ignored them and could spend days with them. They too did not hesitate before all the struggle. I bought them for a photo shoot and he looked so cute. I'm including photos of him wearing them the first day and a few days later so you can all see how comfortable he was.
