Hard to bypass. Despite care, sometimes the plastic sticks to the tape. My biggest complaint is that it doesn't stick to the flooring! I painted my paneling first and wanted to protect it so I could paint the walls. When I was ready to go an hour later, 50% of the tape had come loose from the top edge of the fairing. If you attach it to a wide, flat, clean surface like window panes (or yourself!), it works great. But folding it or bending it, putting it on the edge of the finish will not work. In each room we had to crawl and squeeze for a few minutes if we wanted to paint. That's a lot of disposable plastic waste for a non-user friendly product. Not worth the price.
