Review on Zoo Med Turtle Gallon Tanks by Marisol Brown

Advantages: This platform is large and can support 1.5# RES. My turtle is about 6.5-7 inches long. The UPPER suction cups will stick, not the lower ones. But that seems to be enough to hold it in place and keep my turtle afloat. Cons: The platform seems to be reset. Pieces of it are constantly floating around - sometimes "pieces of wood", sometimes (mostly) some shiny substance. I've washed that thing 100 times but it doesn't matter. I expect this crap will damage my filter (canister - costs 3x as much as a log). I tried the above tank docks but my turtle refused to use them. He won't use it for a while. I added one of those chicken heat lamps and it was in the magazine for 5 minutes - it was just difficult. I've tried other platforms since then, but my tortoise isn't interested. So I'm kinda stuck on the platform to keep the turtle warm. I can't tell if it's defective. We had a smaller version and I don't remember having problems like this. But the turtle was also much smaller. The platform would be great if there weren't so many around the tank! I'm crossing my fingers goldfish and turtles won't die from it.
