These connectors work great. You are exactly what I needed. However, they will not work with standard 18 AWG stranded wire. The insulation is too thick to fit the holes. Although the text description clearly states "for AWG 20-24", the first illustration says "suitable for 24/18 wire". Perhaps for 18 AWG this only applies to solid wire as that insulation tends to be thin. I needed a way to temporarily separate the dual 18AWG cable. So I used a 20 AWG wire connected to an 18 AWG wire, used connectors and then connected a 20 AWG wire to an 18 AWG wire. Since the current is only 200mA, the voltage drop is negligible. I am satisfied that this workaround works well. Some reviews have complained that these connectors cannot be reused. That is, by design. They are designed to be permanently attached to the cable, so the plugs themselves act as a detachable plug. When inserting the cable, care must be taken not to twist it in the connector before pinching it during installation. Otherwise there is no electrical connection. Before using the connectors, it is recommended to check the integrity of the installation.
