Good but not the strongest

I used these with 18AWG wire and found the holes to small for the wire. I had to use a small drill to enlarge each hole a little before I could insert the wire. Compressing went well, but on some of them the "hinge" area popped out when I squeezed them. The metal protrusions inside fold up, which had to be bent back before they could be joined together. Once closed I found them very easy to open. Simply pressing the wire opens the tab a little no matter how hard I try to pinch it with pliers. I

Works well with a simple workaround

Bought to fix a cheap, easily broken battery connector on a cheap RC car we bought off Amazon for my boy. The wire gauge was on the low end of compatibility for these connectors and therefore the connection didn't work as intended as the cut edges didn't seem close enough to cut through the insulation and make a decent connection. The wires were threaded so I stripped a few millimeters of insulation and then folded the bare threaded wire back onto the insulated part and tucked in with the bareโ€ฆ

However, these connectors work great...

These connectors work great. You are exactly what I needed. However, they will not work with standard 18 AWG stranded wire. The insulation is too thick to fit the holes. Although the text description clearly states "for AWG 20-24", the first illustration says "suitable for 24/18 wire". Perhaps for 18 AWG this only applies to solid wire as that insulation tends to be thin. I needed a way to temporarily separate the dual 18AWG cable. So I used a 20 AWG wire connected to an 18 AWG wire, usedโ€ฆ

They will handle 10 amps DC as advertised, but very warm, 6-8 amps is a more conservative number.

Good. Plug it in with their proprietary 18 AWG wire and I used pliers to close it. VERY easy and fast. No cleanup. Small size for projects with limited space. In fact, it takes up no more space than the 18 AWG wire itself. Generic, you can't get more male or female, they're generic. Any two plugs are plugged into each other, snap tightly, hold well.
