Three hours to install. Very disappointed.

I got mine today and spent half an hour installing it but it didn't work. I first tried the driver's door on my 2017 XT5. I slightly unplugged the original, but the plug did not reach the logo backlight. I checked the contacts for straightness and other obvious problems and there weren't any. I then tried the other 3 logo lights and encountered the same issue so I went back and tried the original light which plugged right in. I then tried other doors with different logo lights and only one was wired correctly and luckily that light alignment was wrong. Half an hour later, trying to understand what was going on, I risked it and squeezed the locking mechanism on the plug with needle-nosed pliers, so to speak, and he entered. logo light One of the pins is stuck inside a tiny circuit board (almost no solder and with a tiny spacer), so here's my soldering iron and multimeter (I'm an electrical engineer, 33, by the way). I fix the pin, check for shorts, put everything back together, crimp the retaining tab on the connector, and it works. Not exactly easy. While sorting out the logo lighting, the lack of quality was obvious, tiny loose wires and a circuit board that made me laugh. I'll be surprised if they stay on one disc for some of the RR tracks. They also generate a lot of heat for an assembly intended to use LEDs; I haven't researched but it seemed very strange and the instructions say not to leave them on for too long or the logo material will melt. What the hell is so long. I think people will know if the picture says money is non-refundable. The picture isn't very good on an SUV either, it's quite large which suits me, but the quality is negligible due to the height of the car. I did my own test and at the height of a passenger car the picture was impressive. For now I'm hoping they'll hold up a bit, but I don't expect that.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Running
