Can be used as a component of an inexpensive audiophile system. Be sure to connect the outputs to 4 ohm or 6 ohm speakers - I paired it with a Dayton Audio 652-Airs and a 115w Sony subwoofer. Managed to get it to the point where a live recording sounded, well, live, which is usually the goal of audiophile systems. It requires some fiddling with your system and source EQ. It looks like the Fosi 2120A's presets put signals through an extra stage of EQ (in addition to, or maybe instead of, the standard tone control). If you have a good subwoofer with its own amplifier, try the Soft EQ setting. The sound quality is good for a device of this size and price. If you prefer loud hits and pure power, the 2120A will disappoint you. For the discerning listener on a budget who wants decent speakers, old or new, from a compact and stylish amplifier that accepts a wide range of inputs, the 2120A is worth considering.
