I used this to scan items in and out of my inventory. So far I don't have many scanned items; I'm also having trouble scanning them. For now though, I'm creating a scan category so I can view things as they're being sent and scanned. This device took about 10 minutes to install because at first I couldn't figure out why it wasn't scanning to my computer. I pulled out the manual and took it apart in about 30 seconds by scanning the reset barcodes and the wireless barcode. The base has a USB port with a 2.4 GHz WiFi adapter; works easily as a single system and holds the device well. The range is good as I've used it over 15ft and haven't had any issues with it.
