Overall I am impressed with the quality and price of these windows. The windows arrived in excellent packaging/upholstery. Each window (I bought 3 in total) was individually boxed and sealed with strong bubble wrap to protect the ends that come in contact with the edges of the box. To seal the edges, I haven't felt a draft through the windows even on the cold nights we've had so far. The windows appear to be well made. The handle moves between 2 different positions to indicate closed or open. In the closed position, only about 1/4 inch of the tip of the handle slides over the top edge of the window frame, creating a latching connection. I give the window security class B+. on the outside that I might break it, but of course I won't test it, and I have a feeling this window will be strong enough if someone tries that hard, for anyone not intending to just snap it definitely break glass. The only real downside I can report, and it doesn't seem like many others have this issue, is that I can't get my windows to stay open if I open them more than 20 degrees or so . . (see videos). Other reviewers report that the window stays fixed in whatever position you open it, but I haven't had that experience. After mine are tilted about 20 degrees, they kind of fall into the fully open position. I installed the windows lot so I'm not entirely sure why mine are behaving differently. not a big deal and I would still buy these windows again if I needed more. The only thing I might do differently next time is set them up so the top tilts back a few degrees from the plumb line to counteract the force of gravity, which at a certain point opens the window fully. In general, the purchase is satisfied. . I still give that 5 stars...rounded up from 4.5.
