Beautiful and durable, I must say a little. It's just easier to navigate to the controls from different angles. The soft start switch worked for me. Scroll to #6, then press Unlock Mode, then scroll to #1 and back to #6, the light will flash three (3) times. Okay, soft start isn't for me, I have to scroll to the desired speed, I think some people like this feature. I have to cut now, not when the tool tells me to. Expensive? what the hell is gone? I love a good blue Makita, even my old B&D still works. This is a welcome addition to my arsenal of tools. Don't think I would buy this one again, seems to be clinking reliably any time soon. All of my other Makita cordless tools have outlived their batteries many times over. With that in mind, Makita certainly makes some good tools. Deduction. It took a few snips and trims, but fingers dipped now and then in case a runaway, wobbly kid wanted to take a bite of me. You will either love it or hate it after using it for a whole day. I like it. Stick with four stars just to see how long it lasts.
