The concept is good for waterproof cable passage. It's a size 11 that needs an 11/16 bit to make the right hole, and 11/16 bits are expensive ($18) if you don't already have them. A size 7 will work with the 1/2" bit that comes with most kits, but the 7/16" bit will provide a tighter, more watertight seal. A size 9 also requires a slightly larger size than 1/2". I had to buy another large assortment to get a size 7 that would work with the bits I had, but I was able to do it for half the price .11/16 drills". Now I have billions of them that I'll probably never use. I had no luck finding an electronics store that even knew what a cable gland was in North Florida.
