I had a shower head that leaked randomly from time to time. I read that replacing this valve would fix the problem so give it a try and it seems to have helped. One problem I had with the initial installation was that the valve was wrong and didn't work properly even though I installed it in the correct orientation as directed. I took it out again and saw that the inner valve in that part had a different orientation than the old one. So I had to remove the internal valve from the new part, rotate it to match the old one, and reinstall it. It worked for me and there have been no leaks since I installed it a few months ago.
