So this summer has been a very wet one. I have no problem with moisture in my basement. I have a ranch so all the bedrooms etc are on the first floor. The house had a humidity of 60%, but at times it reached 80%. I bought this unit to reduce humidity in a little over 2,000 square feet on a single floor. Although I've been using this for the past 2 months with no problems, I was curious and yesterday measured how much water it removed. It was about 2 gallons in 8 hours while the humidity was still about 60%. Today I finished installing a whole house dehumidifier in April and in 2 hours it got the house up to 55% which was my set point. Finally, this Alorair unit previously worked in my completed basement of approximately 1100-1200mยฒ. ft. I'd also say it keeps the basement below 60% while working there, but it doesn't look as impressive as advertised. However, I would say that it appears to be very well made, I just don't think it removes as much water as it claims.
