So far so good for camera and photo

I need the widest lens I can get without crazy wobble. I bought the first used lens for $300 (same model but older) but it didn't work with my Nikon D5100 so I returned it. For another $100 I got a new one, properly adjusted and with a full warranty. I wasn't sure if I should buy another lens, but the price is very attractive, especially since I don't have to spend a lot on a lens right now. Tamron or Tokina glass costs at least another $100-200, and Nikon is twice as expensive. None quite match the wide-angle performance of this lens, and I really don't need anything narrower than what this lens offers. I was impressed by the preview footage. It focuses correctly and although it's slightly distorted at wide angle, it's not too bad and easily fixable with PS Elements. I plan to use it for my beginner real estate photography. Update: With large focal lengths and apertures, there is a clear distortion that needs to be corrected. However, many real estate agents want me to use a 10mm lens, so that's about it and it's still a lot better than using a cellphone. ie avoiding tilting up or down), the results are very acceptable and the distortion is kept to a minimum. In some cases, up/down tilt distortion actually improves the situation by exaggerating the field of view. Good lens to test.

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • Almost everything is there
