Perfect match for my 2001
Installed on a 2001 Sportster XL1200. (I have two), unscrewed the grille so it's in two pieces, put the backing on the front of the light over the rubber piece that stayed there after the ring was removed, screwed on the front of the grille and moved it around like that . it was oriented vertically. Disclaimer: I'm writing this right after installation. I haven't checked while driving. I've read that others have had vibration issues. When this happens I will use a small piece of tape to secure it in place. Although mine looks pretty comfortable.
