Chairs are pretty, quality not great, but for the price what can you expect. Opening the package was a total nightmare. Had to destroy the box to open it. Hardware missing two washers, instructions are opaque, even misleading, and nowhere do they mention that you absolutely need a Phillips screwdriver to assemble the chairs. But okay—this is par for the course, right? I usually enjoy putting things together, but these were quite a challenge for one person—get someone to help you. But all this is okay; I actually do enjoy the challenge. After finally getting one chair put together (with much sweat and swearing) I proudly set it down on the floor and found that it was way too short on one leg. Hmm. I set about solving the problem, and after putting it together and taking it apart again at least four times, including switching parts back and forth between the two chairs, I realized that I was having so much trouble because the parts included were incorrect. They had sent me 3 right-side leg frames and only 1 left side. Two of them were labeled left, but only one of them really was. Even that’s okay—stuff happens, right? So I set about getting a replacement part, only to find that I cannot contact the vendor and I can’t exchange the defective part. If I ask for a refund I have to return the whole freakin’ set, not just the one part and I draw your attention again to the fact, noted above, that the only way I got the box open was by destroying it, so packing the whole shebang up again really wasn’t an option (in addition to being a total pain in the tush). Actually, according to Walmart, this item isn’t eligible for exchange at all. The computer (only contact point available) offered me dog food and other stuff I’ve ordered before as possible exchanges. So here I with one good chair and another that can be made usable only with an inch-tall extension under it so it doesn’t tip. This is NOT okay. I’m giving it one star only because you can’t give none.
