Media could not be loaded. These aluminum angles are amazingly versatile for woodworking jobs. I already have several sizes and designs. But as with clamps, it's always a good idea to have them on hand, especially for tricky splices. And the brand prices are ridiculously high. Based on my experience with both, I see no real difference between these and the expensive brands. I mainly use them to make sure everything stays level when assembling and gluing. They are also great for calibrating tools and with a variety of fixtures and connections. These squares even have countersunk mounting holes so they can be screwed onto a table to repeat the same constructions over and over again. A very good feature. I checked each of them for squareness with my digital goniometer. They are near perfect, within 0.001 inch of the total length of both arms. The anodized aluminum material is thick and strong, yet lightweight. They have to maintain this level of accuracy for a very long time. However, in my experience they flex a bit when clamped tight. So I usually only use them with spring clips or smaller quick release rod clips. clamps. So in my opinion this is a good exception that helps keep costs down. They scale in both inches and millimeters, which can be useful in certain situations. Overall I am very impressed with these squares. The quality is obvious. Big. material and processing. Top notch accuracy. I really appreciate quality tools and jigs like this product. So I am very happy to add these squares to my collection.
