Please note that the motion sensor is not a PIR (Passive Infrared) motion sensor. This motion sensor is different from those used in traditional security systems. PIR motion sensor technology is designed to detect human (and most pets) body heat and set off an alarm. Consequently, the IR motion detector has far fewer false alarms. This motion sensor is not an IR sensor, so it detects any movement, e.g. B. Garden plants, rose bushes, etc., by the action of the wind. I bought this system and another system from the same brand to expand my project. I placed 1 of 4 motion detectors facing a rose bush (about 6ft away) to detect a person crossing my alley entrance before reaching my front door. The motion detector kept giving false alarms when the wind was blowing and my rose tree was moving. At first I hoped it was defective, so I swapped all 4 motion sensors. They all caused the same false alarms. It gives me a headache and annoys me. The other 3 motion sensors installed in other places where nothing is moving are fine. Therefore, do not install these motion detectors next to or opposite garden plants, shrubs or small trees that can be moved by the wind.
