This is not an escape protection. Our cat Max, a 3 year old F3 Savannah, really got away from this harness. However, I now use it as a reinforcement for our other harness, which it also breaks out of. I put a "come with me" cat harness on him, fasten a tie/leash and then pull that harness over it like a jacket so to speak. It seems to be working for now :) This might work well if you don't have a super smart giant cat that loves to run away. This is good quality. It appears to be very well made and is on par with those I've seen retail for double or triple the price. It's just not escape-proof. It comes with a leash and it's a good leash for the price too.
