Review on UL Listed Low Voltage Landscape Wire For Outdoor Lighting - FIRMERST 16/2 Cable, 200 Feet by Alfred Friedrich

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Seems well made. Be aware of voltage drop depending on AWG ,length, and lamps watts.

The cable works fine and seems well made.It is easy to identify one wire from the other in both ends. That is handy if you are using DC.I'm using batteries not a step down transformer. With either 12v or 24v battery the cable has a voltage drop of 1 volt in 100ft with a 20w led light. Consider that when connecting several lamps on the same cable string. One lamp gets dimmer if you connect a second one at 12v. If you try the same at 24v both 20w lamps work the same.It looks that I'm reviewing the lamps and not the cable. If you plan to connect several lamps after 100 ft of this cable you might need more than 12 volts.

Pros
  • Worked great for driveway gate opener.
Cons
  • May not be as reliable as other types of outdoor lighting wire

I didn’t realize all the components were separate so by the time I got the required transformer and wire for the low voltage lights it was twice a expensive as what I thought , which is dissatisfying and they should make that more clear or visible in their advertising
