Review on πŸ“Š AutoMeter 2888 Performance Tachometer, 2.625 inches by Jay Brock

Revainrating 4 out of 5

My rating says it all.

Touch is ok, I doubt I need the 8000 range. A quality tachometer with a range of 0-5500 would fit 99.88% of all domestic cars, but Autometer won't do it for us. I would have liked the extended and more detailed RPM range provided by the 5500 speedometer cap. Comments about the "cloud of moisture" in the front panel are true. I live in a drier climate and until then it was happening every day. I drilled two small holes in the case. One hole below and one above. The cloud is no more. Why Autometer seals this device in this way remains a mystery. Do you think we'll put it on the outside of our car on the hood, like a tuner? No thank you. I might be more understanding if I bought Autometer's cheaper Autogage, but I gave up a bigger coin for a quality Autometer, and here I am talking about how I had to drill two holes in my expensive Autometer tachometer to clear the cloud Condensation formed daily in my cabin with a touch installed. Well done Autometer. When I was racing 20 years ago the quality was evident from the minute you opened the box. I think your best days are behind you.
