After months of struggling with a slowly deteriorating gasket I finally bought a replacement. The old one looked like it was made out of polar fleece. The original natural rubber seal appears to have been damaged by large chlorox tablets that I put in the tank a while ago. Replacing the seal took almost five minutes from start to finish, and now the regular refilling of the toilet bowl has stopped and the physical exertion required to press the flush handle has been reduced from a ridiculous amount of pounds to a few ounces. This new seal is made from a significantly stronger silicone rubber than the original natural rubber. The only complaint I have is that I had to replace it a year prior when I first noticed increased difficulty pressing the flush handle and the occasional tank filling noise for no reason. I bet he wasted thousands of gallons of water. Pooh! I plan to buy extra pieces and tape them to the bottom of both toilet lids so I don't have to replace them next time! If you have a toilet that uses this seal, this is a must have, even if you think you don't need it. Recommended without reservation.
