Review on πŸ”„ Enhanced Performance: Creality Upgraded Mainboard Customized Motherboard by German Diaz

Rapid update for Ender 5 Plus!

The Creality Ender 5 Plus is a decent, not-so-small printer, but I think it suffers from several serious flaws, one of which became apparent after about 30 days. After a long press I cleaned the heatbed and noticed a spark on one of the front clips. At this point, my z driver stopped working. I can only surmise that the same defect that would have allowed current to flow through the base of the heatbed (poorly insulated circuit?) also provided a convenient conductive bridge to the motherboard. Which resulted in me needing a replacement. After Creality proved to be completely worthless in terms of support (almost a month of objections), I decided to buy a replacement. So I found this board. Installation was as easy as you would expect - it's basically identical to the configuration of the original board. Be organized and take your time, and the exchange is pretty easy. As soon as I turned on the printer, I immediately noticed a difference (aside from the fact that it WORKS, lol). This was NOT a silent printer before. Not too loud but you could hear almost everything. After installing this board with updated drivers I really only noticed fan noise as well as that annoying random squeak you get when you move up and down the Z axis, but that's another problem for another day. Of course you still have to re-level and recalibrate with a new board, but that's no big deal. After everything was set up, the printer has been working great ever since. It's a bit pricey, but this board seems to easily deliver on its promises. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
