Custom fit for 2006 Dodge Ram 1500

TYC 610730 Dodge Ram Pickup Condenser Replacement Cooling Fan Assembly Application: 2006 Dodge Ram 1500. the air conditioner is on and you notice the lack of cooling in traffic jams or in the parking lot. Another indicator is constant idling when the air conditioning compressor runs fast. Replacing this element is quite simple. I would rate the level of difficulty as easy to medium. If you're not mechanically inclined, take as many photos as possible with your phone before and during disassembly. This shows cable routing, screw types, location, etc. for reference during assembly (though you don't need much here). Removal of system, battery and control panel etc. Absolutely NONE of these steps are required to complete this procedure. The next mandatory safety message is "Disconnect positive battery cable before proceeding". So, entirely your choice and the perceived risk if you choose not to. There are several YouTube videos that explain the process as a good guide (just ignore removing the battery, fuse box, etc.). After opening the soft top, the front section immediately catches the eye. Bracket for the radiator block running from the driver to the passenger side. It is attached with 4 screws. The A/C condenser fan assembly and engine radiator are attached to the radiator core bracket with 10mm screws.1. Remove the two 10mm screws from the top of the AC condenser fan assembly.2. Remove one 10mm screw from the top of the radiator.3. Remove the four screws (2 on each end) securing the radiator core bracket.4. Lift the mainstay to the side so it rests on the front of the truck (it is attached with a hood release cable). This provides easy access to the entire fan assembly.5. The aluminum AC tube runs along the underside of the core support, which is currently attached. Detach the hose for some flexibility in movement. Be careful not to bend, bend, or otherwise damage this lead.6. The AC line runs through the AC condenser fan assembly. Just cut the plastic assembly in a nice straight line. This allows the capacitor (heatsink) to later separate from the plastic encapsulation without having to discharge/charge the AC system.7. The plastic shroud is attached to the condenser with two 10mm screws on each side. Delete it. Condenser and casing can now be separated from each other by gently pulling. Pull the capacitor out of the case without damaging the capacitor fins.8. Remove the wiring harness from the fairing and disconnect the wiring harness from the fan motor.9. Remove the fairing/engine assembly from the truck. Retain the two rubber bushings at the top and two at the bottom and install them on the replacement assembly.10. Be sure to pre-cut the plastic of the sheath to be replaced for the AC line spacing.11. Reinstalling is simply the process of uninstalling in reverse order. Total time: from start to finish including tool cleaning was 40 minutes. Detail overview: 6-blade fan included. Well-made and solid design with some extra features that didn't get in the way of installation. Some talked about noise but mine was quiet. In fact, the OEM fan was louder than the TYC fan. I don't know the CFM rating, but it is equal to or better than the original (feel, not actual tool measurement). Conclusion: I have a cold air conditioner idling again. With summer approaching here in Alabama, cold air conditioning is a must! Hope that helps.
