Pros: Uses standard AAA batteries, not AA like the description says. It's actually nice. Most pressure gauges use button batteries. Who keeps spare button batteries handy when you urgently need a pressure gauge? It also sits comfortably in the hand for secure stem contact. It's not exactly a tiny sensor if that's what you're looking for. And I like working with a button. Cons: (Remember, I love this sensor.) I replaced this item because the LED stays on for over an hour and then slowly fades out. The replacement sensor behaves exactly like the original, but I'll keep it because I like everything else about it. You have to look directly at the LED in the dark to see how it glows after a while, but that still drains the battery, doesn't it? A dripping faucet wastes gallons of water, right? I called Extech tech support for the first one and they said it was probably defective based on what I said about the glowing LED. They were good, but apparently they never held them in their hands to check them. I'd like to speak to the design team to see what's going on with the LED. I might see if I can turn off the LED light because how often do you check your tires in the dark? And you can use your phone as a flashlight. I haven't tried plugging my ammeter into the battery circuit to see how much current the LED is actually drawing after the LCD turns off after 90 seconds. AAA batteries hold more energy than button batteries, so I expect they'll last a while, even with the LED flashing for a long time each time you press the button.
