Product not as advertised, laptop HDMI connector damaged

I ordered and paid for two 9.8ft cables, received 6ft cables which I never noticed until I use one had to. The label says the cord is 3 meters long, just over 6 feet long. A cable messed up my laptop's HDMI port, so now I can't use the KVM switch I bought on that PC. Pooh.
