Review on ๐Ÿ”ง High-Quality Shock Struts with Premium Support - 2002 to 2010 by Kenneth Barnes

Revainrating 5 out of 5

felt stiff but worked once installed

When I took them out of the box, the first thing I did was place one end on the floor and press down. I couldn't push it at all. I thought about it for a while and decided to give it a try anyway, just install it. Once installed, the weight of the hoods worked fine with the angle they were set to. Perhaps stiffer than necessary, after replacing the first the cowl stayed fine and continued to hold the cowl after the old shock absorber on the other side was completely removed. With both installed there was some extra pressure when the hood closed, but once it was mostly down it closed tight. As for packaging, why do they have to use plastic bubble wrap for a few pieces of steel in a small box? A little overdone with the packaging, so I'm giving them one star. Time will tell how long they last. The originals on the truck lasted 15 years and OEM replacements cost three times as much. So if they last 5 years they are worth it considering how easy they are to replace.

Pros
  • Sturdy surface
Cons
  • Security
