This adapter sounds terrible even after I rolled back my sound driver and disabled all sound enhancements. The signal isn't clean and it looks like Creative implemented their own sound enhancement setting (which is NONE). My $8 Sabrent adapter delivers the best, CLEARest sound and I'm very disappointed. right out of the box, creating a junk sound. With everything turned off now, I can honestly say that despite the slight hiss that comes and goes on this unit (I unplug and plug it back in and that usually fixes it), this unit has a loud, clear, and warm sound . The highs are a little harsh for my personal taste, but overall 4 stars (after a lot of effort).
