I bought this thread (black) because several reviews said it was great and praised it. However, when I received this joke about threads, I pretty much realized that THIS thread is NOT STRONG. On the contrary, it easily breaks with a flick of a finger when tested for strength. I currently have several Coats general purpose threads that are MORE DURABLE than this thread from Threadart. I thought this thread was something like a really strong cotton thread (which I got from my dad many years ago) that I have and it's almost done. and I can't find it anywhere; I even checked out a lot of fabric stores in Miami. This thread I have is EXTREMELY strong, strong and very difficult to break when you pull it with your finger if you check its strength, not to mention it's very thin (i.e. THIN). I'm not even sure if such a thread even exists. I guess I'll continue my internet search for real durable cotton thread because this one doesn't even come close. I'm not sure if this mercerized cotton yarn is what companies now call high performance yarn, or if these so-called high performance yarns are replacements for the real cotton yarns that were made in the past, but this commercial yarn looks pathetic. I do not recommend this thread to anyone. Again, this thread is NOT heavy duty so buy at your own risk.
