Received this today and started using it straight away. Yesterday I bought a bunch of air dried ash wood that I plan to use for a project soon. So I couldn't wait to tear open the packaging and try it out. I put in the included 9v battery, removed the cover and adjusted the settings, then tested my wood. It was so easy to use and I love the additional scan readings/max/min settings. The last pages of the manual tell you which mode to use depending on the type of material you are testing. I know some reviewers have said they can't remove the lid. The version I have has instructions on the lid to slide it in a specific direction instead of tearing it off. I'm glad the cover is nice and comfortable so I don't have to worry about it falling off and damaging the sensors. To further prevent damage to the device, it comes with a soft-touch case. Pros: Price - can't beat it at $35. User friendliness. If you are looking for a moisture meter, look no further and order one today.
