I've had it a little over a week so far. I like to walk in and out of a room and leave the house without having to worry about turning off the lights. I like to use the 24/7 mode. It automatically changes the brightness and turns the light off/on without you having to do anything. I also notice that in night mode my fish seem calm and searching. It says it's not waterproof, but I haven't had any issues. I had to adapt it to my 36 and 10 gallon tanks. The little one wasn't big enough and the big one was a little too big (dangling a few inches). For this reason I actually gave it 4 stars instead of 5 BC. I never touch them as long as they work without any problems, I am sure that they are a good investment: I look forward to seeing my plants grow (main reason). I want the storm button built into 24/7 mode as I will never take the remote to turn it on. Not bad! Update: I've had it for 8 months now. I bought two different sizes for different aquariums. I like the 24/7 mode BUT it doesn't show the exact time. After a few days the timer stopped turning off. It's quite annoying to wake up at 3am and it kind of adjusted to the day. He didn't do it at first, so I'm guessing something went wrong after a few months of work because they both started it around the same time. At first I just wanted to include a thunderstorm in the automatic setting. Black hair algae formed in one tank and green algae formed in the other. I would think it's because the auto timer didn't sync properly. I've tried my best to use the remote control every chance I got, from about 4 months onwards. After 6 months it started switching which in turn caused my algae to start growing. I have turned off both lights in both aquariums since Christmas. My algae started to disappear. Remember these tanks are 4 years old. I've never had problems with algae. The pros are the light is bright, the water has never shorted out and the remote works as it should. I just can't figure out why the 24/7 automatic timer isn't working properly on BOTH devices. I haven't noticed much growth from the lighting to my live plants. New update: the bigger one still works...even with a little tidying up. I don't use it all the time, but it works when I want it to. The smaller one on the small tank... turns itself on so I had to unplug it. I'm assuming moisture got in which tells me they aren't as waterproof as I was hoping for extended use.
