Very Nice! I am impressed with the customer care and the quality of the bearings. I called to inquire about torque specs as most of the time improper torque is the primary cause of early failure. If you don't want to replace these things, I suggest you tighten them. Yes you can google and find specs but you will get different opinions. It is ALWAYS best to contact the manufacturer and find out what THEY recommend as they will provide the warranty. The main axle nut weighs 103 ft.lbs. for this car. Torque for the remaining 3 bolts on the back of the knuckle is 77 ft-lbs, threadlock is not required but will not damage these bolts. Clamp Nut Torque 100 ft. pounds. If your skid plates are rusted it is time to replace them as you will be removing them. Otherwise, if they're bent, you can straighten them, clean them, and paint them while they're being removed. It's pretty quick work though. Take your time and be sure to clean the hole on the steering knuckle where the hub goes in, that's where a lot of rust accumulates. Use a wire brush or wheel on a drill press and then grease the hole with some grease. This ensures a snug fit and hopefully if you ever have to pull them out again you won't have to spank them, you don't have to either, but why not? It also doesn't hurt to apply dielectric grease to the ABS sensor connector and clean the connector on the truck with an electrical contact cleaner. This ensures good, clean contact. Incidentally, torque the caliper bracket (18mm bolts) to 35 ft. lbs and the drive stud bolts to 31 ft. lbs. Also use threadlock unless you want the calipers to spin and fly away on the freeway. I had that, NOT a pleasant experience. By the way, while you removed the caliper, you should clean and lubricate the caliper bolts. Also, for heaven's sake, don't let the brake caliper dangle from the brake hose. Use a bungee cord, rope, wire, hanger, or whatever to hang it on the wheel so it doesn't get in the way as you work. NOTE. These torque specs are for a 2005 Trailblazer EXT. If you have a different year, make, model or short wheelbase Trailblazer (NOT EXT), I suggest you check the specs. They are validated correctly for the 2005 Trailblazer EXT, not sure about the others so use the specs at your own risk if they differ from those advertised.
