Perhaps a bit of an overstatement as my battery wasn't completely burned out, but at least it was completely drained (thanks to Schumacher's terrible solar charge regulator...if you have one, be sure to install your own diode protection). While this charger is relatively easy to use, it lacks one thing that made me reconsider giving it a five-star ease of use rating - harsh confirmation of settings. To select modes, short press to view all of the different configuration settings, then sit idle at your particular setting. There should be a settings lock button, not idle with a specific soft acknowledge setting. Also, it's very simple - just set it to your specific battery configuration (in my case: 12V AGM) and let it do its job. Convenient and simple, the display shows the voltage, a simple temperature symbol and a pictogram. battery level. It charged my 70Ah battery from almost empty to full in about 12 hours. This comes close to the advertised "ideal world" charging current of 6A. When the battery is fully charged, it switches to trickle charge to preserve the battery. Aside from one small quirk, this is a solid charger and my battery is performing as it used to. One thing I'd like to see is the inclusion of modular cables both in and out to reduce storage requirements. The ability to charge batteries of different chemistry is amazing and this device makes a great addition to any kit.
