With one very small exception, the Dyson filter screen, this filter is identical in all aspects to the Dyson brand filter. Its performance has yet to be determined as it will be in the unit for a year but I doubt it will be better or worse than the OEM filter. The only reason for 4 stars for ease of installation is Dyson's design. the fan itself. The internal charcoal filter must be carefully installed to ensure the tabs are in the correct position. If your outer cover, a piece of metal with holes, is not aligned properly and installs with a simple click, the carbon filter is probably misaligned. So it has to do with the Dyson design, not the filters themselves. I will buy them again.
