Review on ๐Ÿ›ถ Gray Pungo Kayak Console with Dry Storage - Wilderness Systems Pungo Dashboard by Jason Flores

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The original console is the best kayak accessory

Personal preference: I bought this original version of the WS Kayak console to use in place of the last console that came with my 2020 Pungo 125. I found this "old design" easier to use. Fit and remove, and no need for a lithium battery slot etc, the old Orix hatch compartment is really useful for my purposes. Prior to purchasing from Revain I borrowed and tried the 2017 console on my Pungo 125 and it fit like a glove so I ordered it from Revain. I tried the same borrowed, older console on the new 2020 Pungo 120 and it seemed to fit as well, although the difference in comb size is minimal: 22 inches (width) x 57 inches (length) (latest Pungo 120) vs 22 .5 inches (width). x57.75" (Pungo 125). I put a narrow piece of wood under the comb and secured it with bolts/wing nuts through the holes in the bay - this gives the console some stability. I wouldn't fish for mint whales in salt water with this rig but fine for smaller freshwater species (trout, sunfish etc.) I wish Wildenrness Systems would offer either version as I always carry a flip phone with me when rowing, not a smartphone for photographing I have one outdated D810 DSLR and this console keeps my feet in the shade.
