I understand that there are a lot of positive reviews about this birdhouse. and I will say for the price, although it did not quite live up to my expectations, I will not be returning it. The first thing that fell off was the lock for the lifting side. When I went to save it I found that the holes were too big and the screws didn't hold. So I tried to glue the latch but to no avail. Dropped the latch. The box sits on the floor of my parrot cage because it's impossible to fit a second screw to attach it to the side of the cage. The hand can't get to the side that doesn't open at the top to install the screw on the wing nut. And the holes are too close to the top that the metal disc doesn't even fit. I have to make new holes (as mistakenly shown in one of the pictures) next to the entrance to get it on the side of the cage. I think if someone is seriously interested in a bird house, it would be better to go to Pet Smart or Poet Co or somewhere else and buy a heavy wood bird house. It's very, very thin wood. Like the ones cut out of sheet metal. craft wood. Update: I drilled two more available holes and attached them to the outside of the cage. So all is well that ends well.
