Review on DECOMIL Samurai Stackable Wobble Free Capacity by Sarah Gonia

Satisfied with the product after some modifications

I bought this product from competitors for a number of reasons: 1) Similar products have often complained that the assembly is slightly wrong and needs to be changed. 2) They often described an assembly that required hitting with a rubber mallet. 3) I liked the 9 shelf design versus 12 on most of the competition. My problem with this product: At least with the components that I received, I found the assembly to be too loose. . The pieces essentially just slid into their respective grooves with no effort - sometimes even without the hassle of connecting the Lego pieces. There was nothing on the shelves, and the slightest push upwards pulled some of the horizontal pieces out of their slots. As a result, the fully assembled product wobbled slightly. I was concerned that the lack of strong connections could compromise the integrity of the shelves and ultimately the wine on those shelves. I contacted the seller and he was warm and friendly and eventually suggested I glue the pieces together. I didn't really think sticking in open spaces was the answer because it can lead to clutter and walking around. (Not to mention I could never make out all the shelves). I decided to cut the spacers out of tape to match the vertical notches on each of the side pieces (8 per block). There were a lot of cuts. Most of them required a piece of tape on each side of the cut. However, some gaps were slightly wider and required two pieces on each side. This small thickness was enough to tighten the parts enough to eliminate wobble in the device and prevent any of the parts from moving or moving out of position with light pressure. With this attitude I feel much more comfortable putting my wine on the shelf and expect it to be fairly stable no matter how many bottles there are. Without this setting I would send the device back. It took about three to four hours to complete this device improvement project. I sent the seller the following suggestions: 1) Change the cuts so the pieces fit together snugly. 2) Provide your customers with a sheet of perforated vinyl with the spacing size described above to use if they want a tighter fit. Most of them wouldn't have gone through the trouble I went through. 3) Consider the pin design used by many competitors. With pens, I think there will be less hesitation. Additionally, a dab of glue can be applied to the pins to minimize shrinkage on visible parts and this will increase security if you wish to install a permanent assembly. Assuming that none of the suggestions apply to the product you received, you may choose to follow the path I have taken. In general, the product is very durable and functional AFTER I MAKE MODIFICATIONS. Another note: the company name is engraved on one of the side panels. You may want to do a pre-installation lookup so you can plan where this name will be placed in your installation.
