I bought this for my 2001 E38 740i along with BMW 11mm round decals. My diamond key battery died and I never liked how the key kept poking at me in my pocket. Thought it would give a more modern look and also hide the blade in my pocket. I ordered it a few days ago and it arrived this morning. For those who live in the Houston, Texas area, Kathy has a business called Euro Logic that does EWS programming, so I called and was able to make an appointment today. They gave me the number of the guy I got the new key from so I could carve it before I went there. Cutting the key cost me $20 and took 5 minutes. Once at the store, it took them about 45 minutes to remove the EWS from my car, connect it to save a file on their computer, and then put it back in my car. FYI, the chip that came with this key was outside of the keychain in a separate pouch. The store opened the back of the key with a small flathead screwdriver and then had to unscrew a few small screws, insert the chip and close again to open it. They then programmed it and synced it to the car. That works great! The store charged $50 so I ended up spending less than $100 on a key. Very happy!
