2020 Remarks: Unit has been in service since 2018 and still works well. Just need normal maintenance like a clean strainer and bucket (once a year); otherwise the device and its built-in pump (pushes water 6 feet vertically + 3 feet horizontally). 2018 comments: It draws water from the air in my basement and fills its bucket quickly, and it's quieter than my old unit. Here's what's missing from the instructions: 1) To LOCK the device's buttons (little proof?), press and hold the minus (-) and plus (+) buttons until the "LOCK" indicator lights up. To UNLOCK, repeat the process. 2) Humidity setting mode can only be reached (and set) by going through ALL modes. As? Press the MODE button until the mode indicator lights up (e.g. permanent mode off, basement off, living room off, sleeping area off). After ALL mode indicators have gone out, the humidity can be adjusted using the minus (-) and plus (+) buttons.
